As part of the Financial Management directorate, Exchequer Services plays a vital role in collecting a significant quantity of funds from a number of sources.
Housing is big business for Southwark as the largest landlord in London and the 6th largest in the Country meaning that Exchequer Services is responsible for revenue from a huge number of Borough residents. In addition to Housing, the department is responsible for income from a number of other areas such as the ‘Parking’ division with its ample facilities for its residents, including a number of ‘pay & display’ and rental facilities.
The number of Council funding streams means that Exchequer Services plays a vital role in the efficient administration of substantial Council revenue, helping the authority to maintain liquidity and its ever increasing standards of performance.
